Milk Inc. is a Belgian vocal trance and Eurodance group that gained prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Known for their catchy melodies, emotive vocals, and energetic performances, they have become a staple in the European dance music scene.

Formation and Early Years

Milk Inc. began in 1996 as a studio project by three Belgian producers: Regi Penxten, Filip Vandueren, and Ivo Donckers. Prior to forming the group, they were active in the Belgian commercial house scene, contributing to various projects and remixes. Their debut single, “La Vache,” released in 1997, featured vocals by Nikkie Van Lierop (also known as Jade 4U) and achieved significant success in France, selling over 300,000 copies and earning a gold certification.

Evolving Lineup and Continued Success

Following the initial success, Milk Inc. underwent several lineup changes:

  • Sofie Winters joined briefly in 1997, contributing to the single “Free Your Mind.”
  • Ann Vervoort became the face of the group from 1997 to 2000, during which time hits like “In My Eyes” and “Walk on Water” were released. Notably, while Vervoort appeared in performances and promotional materials, studio vocals during this period were provided by Karine Boelaerts.

Hiatus and Recent Developments

In October 2014, Milk Inc. released the single “Don’t Say Goodbye” and announced an indefinite hiatus, coinciding with the birth of Linda Mertens’ first child. Regi Penxten expressed support for Mertens during this difficult time, emphasizing her need for space and time to heal.

After several years away from the spotlight, Linda Mertens returned to the stage in 2022 during an event in Blackpool, UK. On October 27, 2023, she made a surprise appearance with Regi at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp during the \”Regi – The Return\” concert, marking a symbolic comeback for the duo.
